Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe Review

My god, I've been sitting on a DVD copy of this movie for nearly 4 years and it wasn't till last night that I actually watched it.

I was, still am, a long time fan of the old BBC produced Narnia series. Something about the production value of it just spoke to me as a kid, and while the newest remake is good, and frightfully contains some of the the best CGI animals I've ever seen, it lacks heart. It feels like a hollow beast that has no real redeeming qualities.

I was really annoyed by the actors as they all just kinda walked through the film, not really acting, just saying their lines and looking for the paycheck at the end of the week. The voice over actors for the animals did a way better job.

Crap, Aslan was incredible. The VA, the CGI, I almost believed they got a real lion to be there, mingling amongst the actors.

I think the one thing that really stood out in the whole movie for was the sexual tension between Lucy and the Faun, Mr Tumnus. It was overly creepy and absolutely unnecessary.

I would give Narnia, 3/5 stars. Decent, but I would have rather mowed the lawn then watch it.
