SMLMJ originally started as a Mary Jane mini-series to appeal to the female segment of fanboy-dom, but oddly became its own beast.
Sean McKeever crafted an incredibly intelligent, sensitive, and warm warming series. While being a spider-man family title, he actually appears very little in the book, with only one issue (in this collection) being devoted to him.
He does appear from time to time in a couple of panels but nothing to major. Heck, Peter himself rarely appears in the comic. If you happen to have a young daughter, niece or cousins who shows a passing interest in comics, totally grab this for her. Or even get it for yourself, its a great read. (there are also smaller digests collecting 4 issues each there too, if you think the HC will be too much for them or yourself)
I really liked this title, and I can't wait for its returns in August. SMLMJ gets a well deserved 5/5 stars!
