I truthfully didn't see what the huge deal about Hostel was.. I found it to be rather tame and in the end, kinda boring.Its 50 mins of guys ruining around Slovakia and then killing them. I've seen way more brutal things in the evening news.
Some of the killings were pretty impressive, I'll admit I flinched at the cutting of the Achilles tendon and the blowtorch to the eye but the end effect of the blowtorch was too laughable and looked horrible.
I liked how simple the story was and the fact that everyone was in on it. Just how nonchalant about it people were. It made it very creepy and how the sequel expanded on it was great.
I'm looking to picking this up but with a proposed Hostel 3 on the horizon, I will wait to see if they do a boxset.
Hostel may not be for everyone but it certainly isn't as bad as everyone says it is.

Meh, movie was meh to me. I was expecting it to be this great thing w/ all the praise and it didn't live up. There wasn't much of anything I liked much bout this movie.
